It's quite a coup for the 20-year-old model.

Kate Upton sure can work a bikini — so much so that she has landed the coveted cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue two years in a row.
Clad in just a pair of skimpy white bikini bottoms and a fur-lined hooded parka, the bombshell blonde strikes a sexy pose against an icy-capped Antarctic background for the 2013 cover shot. The headline? Polar Bare. The company, which had hoped to announce the cover on the Late Show With David Letterman, made the reveal via a Twitter post after the cover image was leaked online.
"We can finally talk about Antarctica!!!!!...Took us 2 months to thaw out," Upton tweeted after the reveal.
Upton joins a short list of models who have appeared on the cover multiple years in a row including Christie Brinkley (1979, 1980 and 1981) and Elle MacPherson (1986, 1987 and 1988).
Last year, Upton graced her first cover of the magazine's swimsuit issue, and in 2011 she was named Rookie of the Year for her first appearance inside the magazine (which also included an inset photo on the cover). The 5-foot-10 Upton was born in Michigan but raised in Florida.
