Stripping is addictive: Matthew McConaughey

Los Angeles: Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey, who stars in the upcoming film ‘Magic Mike’, says he enjoyed dressing on-screen down for a song.

The 42-year-old wasn`t initially supposed to strip in the film but said he quickly surrendered to the stripping siren song. The film is directed by Steven Soderbergh and also stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Joe Manganiello.

"Soderbergh said in the beginning that if it felt right, I could strip at the end of the movie. I said, `I gotta dance, man`. I would regret it for the rest of my life if I was in a male stripper movie and didn`t get up there and strip myself," McConaughey said.

The actor will be doing a "wonderfully filthy" dance on the big screen, reported a website.

"At first it was scary as hell, but then it became like a drug, and I couldn`t wait to do it again. We took a lot of time designing it because the thong`s your armor, man. It`s your sword. Well, I guess it`s really the sheath for the sword," he said.

The film will hit the theatres on June 29.

Three episodes down and Aamir Khan has turned into phenomena of sorts with his power-packed show Satyamev Jayate. Every Sunday he hits the small tube with a poignant issue and stirs hysteria. His show might not have garnered the TRPs people were expecting in comparison to Kaun Banega Crorepati and Bigg Boss but the affect it had on individuals is fabulous. This has earned Aamir Khan the appreciation of conducting a show which is better than even Oprah Winfrey’s iconic chat show.

Both the shows deal with social issues, social stigmas and life’s many woes faced by a commoner. Yet Aamir’s way of projecting them is considered much hitting than Oprah’s. There are reasons for thinking so. Oprah had limited viewership as she was a hit amongst homemakers and women majorly. But Aamir’s show cuts across every sections of the society and this enjoys an all round connect.

Moreover, the problems discussed in Oprah’s show were just narrations. People used to just tell the tale of disaster in their lives without yielding any end result. But Aamir’s show works to bring in some change apart from highlighting a social problem. It requests support through SMS at the end of the show to generate awakening and take action against malpractices. Also, Aamir being a huge celebrity in himself, emphasis is not on the celebrity quotient but the common man. This unadulterated form of infotainment has found takers ever since its inception. This proves that Aamir made a point without being on your face with his star power. No wonder he is being compared with Oprah Winfrey’s show and in some cases, is put above her.

Anushka Sharma snatches a deal from Katrina Kaif

Many claim that Bollywood is a big industry and has space for every talent. But it is more of a myth than a reality it seems. To keep their brand value going, stars go to any lengths to acquire good endorsement deals even if that means snatching a deal from under someone’s nose. Apparently, a similar thing happened when Anushka Sharma reduced her remuneration for a two-wheeler ad to snatch it from Katrina Kaif who too was keen to pocket the brand.

According to a source, who was in the knowhow of the deal, the brand in question was very keen to have Katrina Kaif as the face of the company. But when they were informed that the actress charges Rs. 6 Crore for an ad, they started looking for other options. One of them was Anushka. However, when they learned that Anushka too was quoting somewhere near Rs. 4 Crore, they thought of paying a bit extra and rope in Kat only as that will ensure more reach and face value.

Though, buzz is that when Anushka heard about the same, she readily cut down her price to Rs. 3 Crore and even assured the brand that she will give them more days to shoot than Katrina. This pleased the company and they signed Anushka for the deal. Right now, it seems they are chalking out a campaign keeping in mind the actress’s flamboyant nature.

Salman Khan back as Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem’

Salman Khan and Rajshri Productions Ltd. together always spelt super hits and blockbusters. Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain are still loved and habitually watched by people even though they are aired every weekend. The magic of these movies never cease to exist. As much as people wanted this combo to continue, things between the Barjatyas and Salman soured and they never worked together. However, now winds of change have blown and Salman will be back with the banner as their eternal Prem in the next film apparently titled Bade Bhaiyaa.

As is obvious in Rajshri movies, the big brother has always been Mohnish Behl but this time Salman will play his real age and portray the big brother’s role as per the sources. It is heard that as is ritual in all movies from the banner, this project too will be stuffed with songs. Sooraj Barjatya is chalking out the music team and once that is done, he will start recording the melodies. Like always they will be the most important facets of the film.

Salman has always been their first choice for any movie but when he got embroiled in black buck shooting incident during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain, Barjatyas distanced themselves from him. A patch up between the two ensued later and he did a cameo in Isi Life Mein. Now with a full-fledged movie with Salman in the lead proves that all is well between them. We can’t wait to melt in the mellow romance once again a la Hum Aapke Hain Kaun style.

'Hannah Montana' star Miley Cyrus films first sex scene for `LOL`

London: Miley Cyrus, who found fame as a teen pop star in Disney’s ‘Hannah Montana’, shot her first steamy sex scene with British co-star Douglas Booth in new rom-com flick ‘LOL’.

The 19-year-old revealed her routine to pull off realistic on-camera intimacy with Booth.

“Breath mints, stomach crunches, spray tan. Plus workouts to make my boobs look bigger, perk them up,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
Cyrus admitted that her initial nerves filming the steamy scenes soon vanished.

She insisted that things ‘could be worse’ than kissing 19-year-old former Burberry model Booth.

Cyrus was equally at ease talking about her sex life in real life as she is discussing it in her work.

She said that her own ‘first time’ made her think differently about things.

“I think it does change you as a person a little bit because you start thinking maybe that`s what guys want from you,” she added.

Our Bollywood stars are very clever. Whenever they are asked to choose between their many co-stars in different movies, they come out the sticky wicket by giving a diplomatic answer. Shahid Kapoor too did the same this when he was asked to name his favourite co-star from the list that has names like Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Rani Mukherjee, Genelia D’Souza, Ayesha Takia and Vidya Balan. The actor refused to take a pick.

Shahid told reporters when posed with this question that no one should expect him to answer this question as he won’t ever do that even if he is paid a lot of money. He truly follows a motto to not prefer any woman over the other. No wonder that he has been linked to his co-stars so often as he never chooses and picks anyone.

Eccentric` millionaire offers 1m euros to bed Kelly Brook

London: Kelly Brook received an indecent proposal at 65th Cannes Films Festival, when a French millionaire offered her one million euros to sleep with her.

Security had to wade in when the businessman, known only as Frederic, stormed a photocall session and threw himself at the model-turned-actress, proffering the cheque in return for “one night with Kelly”.

The 32-year-old initially thought that it was a stunt organised by comedian Keith Lemon, whose film she was helping to promote.

However, when the thirty something stranger started trying to grab her, shrieking “Just one night! Please, one night! I have money...!
she realised their was a big problem and frantically sought help.

A bodyguard sprinted to the star, hauled Frederic away from Brook and ejected him from the plush Majestic Barriere hotel.

Kareena Kapoor goes bold – Smokes and Drinks on screen

With the Government and various social activists still divided on whether or not to ban smoking and drinking from movies, more and more actresses are exhibiting such habits on screen on the pretext of the script. Priyanka Chopra did so in Fashion, Katrina Kaif in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Vidya Balan in The Dirty Picture and the recent one to join the fad is Kareena Kapoor in Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming movie Heroine.

Recently, fanning the hype surrounding the film a bit more, the director tweeted a picture of a smoking and drinking Kareena from the sets. You can see her holding a cancer stick to her lips with one hand while the other is busy holding a glass of alcoholic beverage. Though she doesn’t look distraught, we think we are right in guessing this is the phase in the movie when she becomes the most wanted actress of the industry. From the looks of it, Kareena is giving quite a convincing scene here.

It seems Heroine will break a lot of stereotypes in terms of how actresses are viewed by the public and what they actually are. We hope this puffing of cigarettes and clinking of glasses are not overdone and forced in the narrative. A bit of meat here and there would really be appreciated as we believe in your brand of cinema Madhur. As for Kareena, it seems she is going all out to portray the role effectively

Tusshar Kapoor’s butt invites ‘positive’ comments?

Mumbai: The dare-bare act that made Tushhar Kapoor shoot to fame a few days back, has shot back to news yet again. And this time it is our dear body-barer who has spoken out about his bare-bodied act. Tusshar Kapoor’s John Abraham-like photo that was the talk of the country a few days back has won the former a lot of criticism; just that the actor is not ready to accept it as such.

When Tusshar Kapoor was asked about the many negative comments about his posterior, the actor said to a leading daily: “No. I have been receiving positive feedback from all friends and fans. Why would there be any negativity? The movie is a slick comedy and when one watches it, they will understand the context to this particular scene.”

Mumbai: Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who donned an Indian look in her debut film ‘Dabangg’ and will continue her tryst with traditional outfits in her upcoming films as well, says she is not comfortable wearing a bikini on screen.

"It`s a complete no-no to bikini because I am not that kind of a person. I have been bought up in a certain way. I have certain restrictions that I follow and I don`t see any reason to change it because if the audience has accepted me fully clothed, then why would I resort to it?" said Sonakshi.

The 24-year-old will be seen in her desi avatar in ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Joker’, ‘Once Upon a Time Again’, ‘Dabangg 2’, ‘Son Of Sardar’ and ‘Lootera’.

"I am a normal Indian girl who wears jeans and T shirts normally. Born and brought up in Mumbai, so I am used to wearing clothes like that," Sonakshi added.

In recent times, actresses like Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu donned a bikini for the big screen, while Deepika Padukone has flaunted her fit figure in the two-piece swimwear in ‘Cocktail’.

Sonakshi is also a tad apprehensive about doing an out and out bold film ala Vidya Balan, who stepped out of her comfort zone for a film like ‘The Dirty Picture’.

"It was a great film and Vidya`s performance was fantastic. I respect her so much as an actress after that film, but it takes guts to do something like that. I don`t think I will be able to pull it off with the restrictions that I have," she said.

Currently, Sonakshi is gearing up for the release of her second film ‘Rowdy Rathore’, directed by Prabhu Deva. It also features Akshay Kumar.
